The charging bull

How an artist from sicily looking for fame is able to subvert the art market by creating a good luck charm for Wall Street.

Imagine how surprised the Wall Street operators must have been when, going to work the morning of the 16 of december 1989, they discover a full bronze casted bull, five meters long, weighing 3.2 tons, standing peacefully underneath the huge christmas tree.

No one has commissioned the sculpture. The New York City Council and the mayor spend all day trying to understand how such a thing could have happened and Police officers were puzzled that the action had avoided the surveillance systems.

The story of the temple of american finance symbol, the great good luck charm, photographed by tourists from all over the world, is unbelievable and mostly unknown and it leads to Italy and to a sicilian artist.
